Fledgling Phonics was founded by Madeleine Grace. Our founder used her educational background in English (CURRIC) design and her 10 years of experience teaching EFL(English as a Foreign Language) and ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
The desire came from her strong desire to have high-quality materials that were accessible and tailored to students between 5 – 8 years old. The program was developed using Spiral Learning Theory. In the first book, students learn the basics of an idea. Then in the second book, the idea is expanded and learned again in more detail. Finally, the last book covers the idea again but in even greater depth and detail. After several trials with the books three main outcomes were seen: a deep understanding of the materials, critical thinking abilities, and finally a high level of independence/confidence in students who completed the series.
All the materials created by Fledgling Phonics work together to provide a fun and engaging learning experience for the students.
